Well, I was never really off Ubuntu or or more accurately Xubuntu, but recently I have a computer I had an accident of my own making.
I wiped my drive while installing Ubuntu.
Background. I have my drive on my laptop partitioned to duel boot my main system Debain with Xfce and other linux distros. So the other day I decided to install Ubuntu 24.04 on my laptop to see how it worked. with out even thinking I went through the installer next next next and done! It was great the new installer is a breeze so easy. Maybe a little to easy.
The install finished and I rebooted into Ubuntu 22.04 and then it hit me, I didn't choose a partition I just let the installer do its thing and that's what it did. Now I have a shiny new Ubuntu install on one partition.
Thankfully nothing really lost as I don't save anything important locally, so more of an inconvenience than a disaster.
So what to do, well I will stay on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Generally I have always install Ubuntu LTS on the laptop and Xubuntu on the desktop so really I have just gone back to the default.
