To proxy or not to proxy? That is the question

I have been looking into proxies more accurately a reverse proxy.

I run a Gemini capsule and it has really become my main site thee days, I am much happier crating content for Gemini than the web. I have a lot more to say on that subject but I will save that for a another article.

My Idea was originally mirror my gem capsule and my website It is kind on working as my website apart from the blog and notes page is static and the same goes for my gem capsule. I mirror my gemlog (blog) and my web blog which is currently hosted at Blogger Why? because Blogger is dead easy to setup and use.

So I have a:

* Gemini Capsule

* Static website

* Blog on the web.

As I said earlier, I keep these things fairly synced and up to date.

Reverse Proxy.

I few gem capsules out there reverse proxy their content to the web, so basically it's kind of not converted but rendered to a website maybe?

The upside of this is one site to manage instead of three at the moment.

The downside well, I haven't done it yet so I don't know.

I guess I am questioning why do it? Apart from only having to look after one site I can't think of really any other reason.

My website is mostly static and doesn't change apart from a page I call notes, where I may add a few short notes, a bit like thought and ideas and that's about it.

My blog is hosted on Blogger and is dead easy to manage and sync with my gem capsule.

Also I quite like the simple design of my website.

Another thing is should we be rendering Gemini content on the web, does this dilute the simplicity and uniqueness of Gemini? It sort of feels like it does, I enjoy hanging out in Gemini more than I enjoy the web these days for obvious reasons, the web is full of bumf! More bumf than information these days unfortunately.

Hmmm so I haven't decided yet what to do but at the moment I'm in three places. Three is a good number, it's my favourite number, so maybe I should continue as is?...
